COVID-19 Support Staffing
One of CHL’s core competencies is in our ability to support you with fast and flexible COVID-19 services, such as the following:
COVID-19 PCR Nasal Swab Still considered the Gold Standard of testing for COVID-19, PCR is the preferred testing method due to its heightened sensitivity to the virus. PCR tests can only be processed at certified labs. Canadian Health Labs uses a variety of swabbing techniques when administering PCR nasal swabs, such as Nasopharyngeal and Anterior Nasal.
Rapid Antigen Tests The Rapid COVID-19 Test detects the presence of viral proteins (antigens) expressed by the COVID-19 virus typically within 15 minutes. The antigen(s) detected are expressed only when the virus is actively replicating; therefore, such tests are best used to identify acute or early infection.
Rapid Molecular Testing We use a rapid, instrument-based isothermal system for the qualitative detection of infectious diseases, providing molecular results in just minutes! Advantages of Rapid Molecular Testing include: the elimination of interpretation and transcription errors, the confidence to make clinical decisions sooner, enabling prompt initiation of infection control measures & it being considered more accurate than conventional rapid tests.
COVID-19 Testing for Children As Canada continues to open up, the population of the unvaccinated (especially children under the age of 12) are at risk of another outbreak of the virus. CHL uses the Buccal (mouth) / Anterior Nasal swabbing technique on children, as opposed to the nasopharyngeal swabbing technique, as it has been proven to be as effective and significantly gentler on children.
Saliva COVID-19 Tests Canadian Health Labs is now offering PCR Saliva Tests. You can do the test in the comfort of your own home while being supervised by one of our healthcare professionals via Telehealth.
Test Administration CHL offers test administration services to groups and companies who may already have rapid antigen tests and are looking for registered healthcare professionals to supervise the administration process. We currently offer both On-Site Test Administration and via Telehealth.
The Patient accepts any risks associated with the transfer of their health information through electronic methods (ie. a possible leak, hack, breach in security, etc.). The Patient understands that they will only be notified if they receive a positive result in addition to Public Health being notified (by law). The Patient will be required to be tested again for verification at an official testing centre via the Nasopharyngeal method and self-isolate as directed by Public Health if they receive a positive result. The Patient understands that with any form of current testing, there is a chance of a false negative or false positive result and the Patient will continue to adhere to all COVID-19 safety protocols in compliance with Public Health protocols regardless of their test results, and render Canadian Health Labs and Canadian Health Labs’ Health Canada approved / accredited Ontario Medical lab partners harmless of any damage or harm should a false result be reported.
