Travel Nurse Team Bonding: White Water Rafting Trip
For most people looking for travel nurse jobs in Canada, at the top of the long list of factors making it an especially alluring career choice are:
The chance to travel to different areas of Canada while getting paid, and
The pay far exceeds what you can make in regular nursing positions!
At first glance, it seems like it’s way too good to be true! However, one drawback is that some nurses may find it hard moving to a completely new area of the country without knowing anyone. Canadian Health Labs works hard to combat this caveat by encouraging our travel nurses to befriend each other! Most recently, we organized a white water rafting trip for the travel nurses contracted in Newfoundland as a way to stir up some team bonding.
The rafting trip kicked off first thing in the morning. Our group made our way to Grand Falls, Newfoundland to experience the only white water rafting in the province. The company we went with - (unsurprisingly) named Rafting Newfoundland - has been in business for over twenty-five years, so we knew we were in great hands.
They were amazing at accommodating a group of our size and it wasn’t our guide’s first rodeo when it came to team bonding! He encouraged camaraderie as we worked our way through some of the tougher rapids as a unified unit. It also helps that he had a GoPro on his helmet so he could provide the team with photos and video to remember the day by.
All in all, the white water rafting trip was an excellent choice made by the team. It allowed the travel nurses to bond, see a new area of Newfoundland, and experience something they hadn’t done before.
